As the wedding has passed a few pages (Registry and Directions) have been removed. In their place is a new one called Services. This is a list of all the people and companies we dealt with to put together our wedding, along with our opinion of them.
If you are planning a wedding in and around the Edmonton area please look through the page and see if any of it would be of assistance. If you want more information, or clarification please leave a comment on this post or on the Services page itself and I will respond to you.
We are still collecting photos from the wedding day and have come close, if not surpassed, the one thousand mark. The Photos page will be updated this week and a more comprehensive album will be available after that.

Two weeks after the wedding and we are slowly settling in. All of our gifts have been put away, we have reorganized the kitchen to accommodate the new hardware and once the remainder of our Denby dishes come in we will do a final clean up in the kitchen.
We have received our photos from the photographer, and those friend with us on Facebook will have seen the album. We will be selecting the best photos from the 600 Radelle gave us and most of those will end up in a gallery on the seagurs.com gallery.
While throwing out old documents and papers I was reading over the Civil Marriage Statement and noticed that my middle name was misspelt. I can see how an i and an l could be confused but on every document I read my middle name was spelt correctly. Even during the ceremony the official had said my name properly. What does this mean? We may have to get a new one printed off but first we will wait to hear back from the official as to the best course of action.
Minutes before I realized the incorrect spelling Jenna noticed that the karat of her wedding band was not what we paid for. We ordered the rings in January and picked them up in March, so we are well beyond any grace period but we will have to call the store and see if we cannot get to the bottom of this.
After two weeks of marriage I wonder what else we will find wrong or incorrect.

Our photographer has put up a preview of the photos she took on Saturday. There were many different locations at the Royal Museum, so many different poses and unique angles I’m sure we will love them all.
When we return from our honeymoon we will begin our quest to get as many of the photos from the weekend as we can so if you have any images from our wedding send them our way and we will add them to the collection.

Everything was better than we could have expected. All that we worried about over the last year was quickly forgotten. We did not worry about things when they weren’t perfect, or in this case perfrect, and took it all in.

Tucker Amphitheater was a wonderful location, our photographer was amazing, Snow Valley was beautifully decorated and it was a memorable night with friends and family.
We were so exhausted by the end of the night but it was worth it. Now we go through the process of finding places for the generous gifts and collecting all of the photos that were taken that day. Our photographer said the pictures from our session will be available in a few weeks, at which time I’ll post a few online too.
Because planning a wedding can have its ups and downs I will work on a review of all the services, companies and people we dealt with to help others in the Edmonton area plan a wedding.
Thanks to everyone who came out, supported us and took part in our special day.

Things are starting to feel pretty real on the final day. It would be great if you could spread a wedding over several days so you would have a chance to enjoy everything that is coming your way in a single day.
The last few days have been pretty busy, and it’s not that we are doing a lot I think it’s just there has been a bit of driving, constantly thinking about transportation arrangements, planning logistics and making sure everyone knows what they are doing and where to go that is starting to wear on us.
I checked the weather every day for two weeks and now I haven’t checked it in a few days. Looks like it will be seventeen above and variable clouds, which sounds ideal to me.

Forty-eight hours to go. The tuxedos and dress have been picked up. Itineraries and contact information has been handed out. There are a few last minute things to take care of but from here on out the wedding is on auto pilot. We are equally looking forward to the 14th, and for it to be over. It is a shame that you spend so much time and energy focused on a single day that you may not be able to take it all in.
The last few days haven’t really felt like the wedding was coming, but now that I have my tuxedo it has a pretty real feeling about it. No matter how long you count down for it is still a surprise when it is only two days away.
This is also a public service announcement regarding our gift opening. There will be directions available at the gift table at Snow Valley, but you can also find the directions here. Questions about parking at the Citadel or how to get to Snow Valley can also be found there too.

Last night we paid off our final debt and now the wedding is completely paid off. There are still little expenses along the way like paying for printing, additional corsages we purchased and food for the gift opening but anyone we contacted in the last year and a half now has their money.
We have been busy with printing directions for the gift opening, buying outdoor gear for our honeymoon in Banff and decorating material for the rental vehicle. Our plan today is to pick up some printing from Staples, go to the Citadel to give the Tucker Amphitheater another look over, look into other activities in Banff and maybe do a rain dance so all the rain will be done with for this week.

The realization that the wedding is less than a week away is pretty huge. Because Jenna and I have this week off we will be using that time to do any last minute errands and trying to stay on top of whatever comes our way.
After we had completed the seating chart we received notice from several people that they will not be attending. Murphy’s Law would have it that these people couldn’t have told us sooner, perhaps before we made the seating chart. Fortunately the wonders of double sided tape allow us to make those changes easily but it’s more of an annoyance than anything.
The fourteen day trend continues to change every day but for the last two days June 14 has been free of rain. Let’s hope this trend continues and it can stay dry that day.
We have made progress on TheKnot’s check list but it is still a long way from completion. Most of these items are due within the next week, so I think we’ll be pretty busy. We have to meet with our decorators one last time to deliver photo frames, seating chart, guest book, wedding favors and so on, finalize music for the ceremony, work on speeches and whatever else TheKnot tells us to do.
Stay tuned as I plan on updating throughout the week and document the stress that is planning a wedding in its final days.

We have been able to accomplish a fair bit in the last week but certainly not enough to make us feel like we have everything sorted out. There are a lot of last minute items we have to take care of, and we both have next week off so that will give is a chance to stay on top of what will surely be a busy time.
Last week we started working on our ceremony program and Friday evening we put the finishing touches on it and took it in for printing on Saturday. Perhaps it was a goof on their end, or it was an honest upgrade, but we were given a heavier weight of paper (a $40 value) that the programs were printed on and it made a nice difference. It was one of the easier things we have had to do so far and getting a bonus we didn’t have to pay for was nice too.
We had a meeting with Steve, our MC, and went over the order of events for the wedding. This would have been the time where paying attention to past weddings became helpful but I think we were able to put something together without missing anything or anyone. I have also been busy scanning photos and over the weekend we had 120 photos printed off at Costco which we will use in our frame at the reception.
The 14-day long range forecast now includes June 14 and in the last two days the prediction has changed. Yesterday there was a forecast of rain, now it will be cloudy.
I realize that none of this will be accurate until a few days before hand, but it is nice to get an idea of what is ahead. Hopefully the thunderstorm/rain that is in the future will happen soon so that will get out of Mother Nature’s system.
The list of things we have to do is getting smaller, but it’s difficult not to worry about the ones that are out of your control (like the weather). No matter how much planning we did months ago there is a lot that needs to be done in the next two weeks and June 15th will feel great when we know that everything is behind us. Now we just have to get there.
June 1st, 2008
We are into the home stretch now, now we are using days remaining instead of months. After months of planning, and in some instances a year, it didn’t feel like the wedding would ever get here and now the day is in sight.
TheKnot is becoming more and more completed. Some of the tasks we are doing are not applicable to us (videographer, passport information for honeymoon) but others have been legitimately ticked off. There are a few things to take care of after the wedding but for now when we mark something off TheKnot it feels like a nice accomplishment.
We aren’t ready to meet with Elegance Unveiled just yet but when we do they will get our seating chart, favors and any other items they need to set up on our behalf. I jumped the gun last week in thinking all our major debts have been paid off, unfortunately Elegance Unveiled still has one more payment left. After that all major debts will have been paid off and we can look forward to the bills coming in along side registry updates from The Bay.
Selecting our guest list was one thing, but finding a seating arrangement for all of those people is another. We knew there would be complications with seating but it has proven to be more difficult than we imaged. It would be great if we could fit everyone at the same table, but when working with odd numbers and tables of eight it gets complicated.
One thing that really surprised me was how small my pile of names was compared to Jenna’s. Between friends and family I had six tables of a possible seventeen. That means the Rogers clan and those under the bride have my side beat two to one.
As timing would have it I am starting to get sick. People at work are coughing and during Indiana Jones on Friday a few people were coughing behind us, so it was only a matter of time it got to me. Better to get it now than later, hopefully it will be gone soon and be the end of any health complications we have.
